Dear Oakwood United families,
We are excited to kick off another great soccer season with our athletes! As we approach the start of the 24-25 select season, we are thankful you chose to join our Oakwood United community. Select soccer is a commitment from both the player and the parent, and we appreciate you showing up to practices, players giving their best effort, and parents helping out in so many ways – whether you are a super fan, team manager, or carpool captain.

- Have you seen our new website?! If you haven’t, please check it out – it’s got a whole new look with more resources and information for coaches and parents. We would love additional pictures of your player and their team to populate our site, so please send along good-quality images to OU Board Member Amy Martin: amy@oakwoodunited.com. Thank you!
- New Field Layout for 24-25: Please see the field layout for the 24-25 season. We will have two 11v11 fields (1 and 6), three 9v9 fields (2, 5, and 7) and four 7v7 (3, 4, 8 and 9).
- Congratulations Coach Pepe! You may have heard, but Coach Pepe was selected as MVYSA’s 2024 Boys Coach of the Year. We are so proud of Pepe and grateful to have him as an OU coach. Thank you, Pepe, for your leadership and dedication to your athletes!
- NEW THIS SEASON: Thank you, McGillivary & Ippisch Wealth Advisors for the Practice Jerseys! We are fortunate to have 2 dri-fit practice jerseys for each player, generously sponsored by Oakwood resident Tim Ippisch. If you know him, please tell him thank you! The shirts will be the size you entered for your player during registration. Please have your players wear these on practice days to come “dressed to play”, foster team unity, and look cool. Thank you, Tim, for your generous support!
- NEW PROCESS to gather feedback: Your feedback and concerns are important to us, and to better serve our families, we have implemented a new feedback process. Please read “We Value Your Feedback” below to learn more.
OU Board Updates:
- Thank you, Ryan Morrissey! Join us in thanking outgoing Board Member Ryan Morrissey for his leadership and volunteer efforts on behalf of Oakwood United.
- Help us welcome incoming Board Member Paul Kavanaugh! We are excited for Paul Kavanaugh to join the Oakwood United Board. Paul’s son Connor is on the Boys 2012/13 Gold team, for which he is an assistant coach, and his daughter Ellie plays on the Girls 2015 Gold team. Thank you, Paul!
