Club Policies

Being a member of a competitive soccer team requires a tremendous commitment by players and parents alike.

Oakwood United Soccer Club (OUSC) acknowledges these commitments and wants to make our organizational expectations clear. 

Our hope is that being a part of your team is not just about soccer.  Your involvement is an opportunity to become a part of our Oakwood United soccer community, from the beginning First Touch players, to our oldest Select athletes and teams. 

PLAYER COMMITMENT

Please ensure your child understands that in deciding to participate, they are making a year-long commitment to themselves, their coaches, and their teammates.  They are expected to:

• ALWAYS give their best effort during practices and games.
• Come ready to play and demonstrate good sportsmanship on the field.
• Respect their teammates, coaches, referees, and opposing teams.
• Respect their parents, whose efforts make their participation on the team possible.

PARENT COMMITMENT

I/we understand that Select soccer is a year-long commitment, that includes both Fall and Spring seasons. I/we will:

• Encourage my child to give his/her best effort on the field.
• Encourage my child to develop good sportsmanship, by demonstrating good sportsmanship myself.
• Encourage my child to show respect for his/her teammates, coaches, game officials, and opposing teams, by demonstrating the same respect.
• Let the coaches do their job and I/we will not coach from the family sidelines during practices or games.
• Ensure that my child arrives on time to practices and games.
• Communicate with the Team Manager, or Coach, to let them know if my child will be late to practice or cannot attend a practice or game.  Scheduling conflicts are inevitable, but Select soccer should be a priority in-season.
• Communicate openly with the Coach and Team Manager over any issues.
• Fulfill all financial obligations in a timely manner according to any payment schedule established by the Club.
